2004 Gravner Breg Red
Alongside Beaujolais' Gang of Four, Josko Gravner is one of the most influential winemakers when it comes to the natural wine movement - revitalizing both his estate but also the orange/amber wine genre as a whole. This is the Rosso Breg, made with the native Pignolo grape it is made in a very similar fashion to the whites: fermented in amphora, aged in barrel and then bottled but aged for at least 7 years before release. The 2004 is the current vintage so obviously, that's more like 12. That said, this does not taste like a wine of 12 years - it is tightly wound, concentrated and expressive.
