Made by Amanda and Simon of Terroir wines, this is a wonderful expression of what Cabernet can do in warm, long, Martinborough summers (in short, cold ones its effing awful). Structured, elegant, refined with a masculine beauty thats hard to pinpoint. It's an overachiever and this wine sells for up to $55 at other retailers.
The grapes for BDX 2010 were sourced from old vines planted on the Martinborough terrace, formally Benfield & Delamare. The wine, comprised of 80% Cabernet Sauvignon with the balancing touch of Merlot (20%), was fermented in small volumes and aged for 36 months in a mix of old French and new American oak.
BDX 2010 is an extremely limited production of 696 bottles that is ready for your enjoyment today or evolution in the cellar for up to 15 years from the date of vintage.
"Sweet, ripe berry fruit and chocolate/mocha oak characters. Soft, rich and quite accessible wine that seems quite capable of ageing up to the recommended 15 years from vintage despite the wine's soft tannins." 94 Points Bob Campbell MW
