2016 Carrick Billet Doux Pinot Noir
There are two wines in the pair (we were able to secure a small parcel of the '15 Pinot) - both wines are organic and made without fining, filtration and any adds whatsoever, including sulfur. They are also among the most beautiful, poised, expressive natural NZ wines we have been able to offer. Both wines have a fineness and beauty that is hard to challenge and also both offer exceptional value for money.
It is 100% able clone Pinot Noir from Bannockburn which has 18 days on skins with only one punch down per day. The wine label questions itself impassioning the the drinker, "Let's talk stability and texture." It is beautiful, seductive and aromatic and so different to most other Central wines we've tasted. It too has a fantastic label, illustrated and handpainted by LA-based Leon Ofsky and NZ artist Margarita Vovna.
