2016 Maison Fortant Rose de Province
We've just discovered this absolutely stunning French Rose from the Languedoc - the home of this style of Rose. It is a blend of Grenache, Cinsault and Syrah grown on old vines over deep limestone close to the coast but 250m above sea level. This combination creates a fresh, vibrant and tasty wine packed full of flavour. It is a perfect cool-weather alternative to white wine but is also equally at place on a sunny spring afternoon (we promise - its not that far away). Food wise, this is gonna be super with mussels cooked in a spicy broth (especially with lashings of garlic, espelette and saffron). It is also the winner of a Gold Medal at the 2017 Ultimate Wine Challenge.
