2015 Muddy Water Skin Fermented Pinot Gris
Pinot Gris is a tough variety when it comes to skin fermentation. All too often the choice is driven by expediency and access rather than a desire to use the best material possible. The result - overly tannic wines without varietal lift. Not so for Muddy Water who have pioneered the style in NZ. The tannins are there but also is intense fruit weight and varietal definition.
