2016 Muddy Water Skin Ferment
This wine is slightly different than the last few vintages... instead of being 100% Pinot Gris it is now 50/50 Pinot Gris and Chardonnay with a portion of amphora fermented wine... Dominic @ Muddy Water takes the unusual step of taking the fermenting vessels out into the vineyard to ferment which, I don't know if its just because I've seen it and think it's an amazing way to preserve terroir in the wine as wineries (like breweries) grow their own micro climate of yeasties over time which dilutes the nature of truly 'wild' yeast. It has a crunchy green apple, spice, pear and a hint of nectarine fruit. It is amazing value for money and is safe enough to introduce friends to the miracles of orange wine with. Also if you are hitting a Mee Goreng I can't think of a better wine match.
