2016 The Edge by Escarpment Pinot Gris
This is a truly exceptional value wine from one of Martinbrough's and the countries top producers.... Packed full of pear and spice it walks the line dryness wise at around 8 grams per liter residual sugar with lots of fleshy fruit. Better still it is from the Martinborough Terraces and showcases the sub-regions intense alluvial soils. For those that don't know, Larry McKenna is a pioneer of the variety in NZ first at Martinborough Vineyards where he made dry, textured Burgundian inspired Gris with oak influence (he has carried this style on at Escarpment) however this is a more true to form Kiwi-Style Gris. Remember if you only want a bottle or two you can buy now and then come pick it up or add to your "virtual cellar" and have the wine shipped free of charge when you have purchased 6 bottles.
